Welcome!
I want to share with you my journey of learning how to tat some wonderful motifs. For those of you who don't know what tatting is, it's a way of making lace using either a shuttle or a needle and a double stitch called the Lark's Head Knot. Very fine thread can be used for delicate looking lace and heavier thread or yarn can be used for a more sturdy looking piece.
With the help of a book and DVD named, Learning to Tat by Janette Baker, I taught myself how to tat last year. Once I started, I couldn't put it down. I'm fascinated by the colorful threads, different types of shuttles, and all the wonderful books and patterns I have found.
I will post photographs of my finished projects with some detail about the pattern and thread selected for the project and perhaps what I intend to do with the item.
Tatting Gallery Enjoy the slide show of some of my tatting projects. I've also included a photo of the beautiful dimensional butterfly I received as part of the June 2009 Butterfly Exchange from a tatting friend in Australia.
The follow tabs will take you to some of my favorite tatting links. Enjoy!
Where Should I Begin...
Let's see, right now I am currently working on the 25 Motif Challenge and taking an online tatting Design Class. Of course, I'm always practicing new patterns and on the lookout for the next motif to make. The 25 Motif Challenge is a fun, do-at-your-own-pace challenge to tat and post pictures of 25 motifs made during the calendar year.
